[Tlhingan-hol] "Knitting" in Klingon

From the looks of it, someone misplaced a blank space. {tlhIngan mu’vaD muv} makes more sense than {tlhIngan mu’ vaDmuv}. There are not many polysyllabic verb roots.

Anyway, thanks for {nIq} and {Hut’Inmey tIq}. One suspects that since a stitch in time saves nine, that {Hut} suggests there’s a pun here, though “nine bells” or “nine drums” doesn’t make the specific pun obvious to me yet.

Is there some translation for crochet that would fill in the missing piece? You use sticks for crochet, not weaving.

It would be hard to talk about weaving without a word for a loom, or for that matter, the various types of loom. I’ve used jack looms, counter-march looms and a couple others that I’ve forgotten the names of…

I made a “V” shaped shawl once with the two legs of the shawl woven through each other — warp for one is the weft for the other, with alternating stripes of basket-weave and twill. Creme and lavender. It took an 8-harness jack loom to make it. No minor process.
