I don't think so. Since these are subtitles, they're to be read visually
(i.e., not out loud). I haven't translated "NCC" in "NCC 1701" either. I
don't know what, if anything, "SD" stands for, so I don't know what to
translate them into, and a phonetic transliteration like *{'eS DIy} is
likely to be confusing to the reader.

QeS 'utlh raised this same point. I wrote *{jIym} because I thought for
some reason that I'd seen this used for Kirk's name somewhere, but I can't
find the source (or maybe I imagined this or confused it with something
else).
I'll change this and all instances to {jIm}. This must look very funny to
a Klingon, since it's a word meaning "heave" (an aircraft rising or falling
without pitching).
"James T. Kirk" is {jemS tIy qIrq} in canon. Maybe "Jim" should be
*{jemSoy}? :-)
