Or Floris Schönfeld looked up "predecessor", found {nubwI'}, and used it
without ever considering {nungwI'}.  I think they're essentially synonyms.
 But now it's ambiguous when we say {nubwI'} whether we mean something that
is suspect or a predecessor.
