I think the {'oH} is redundant ; this sentence is part of a story
which concerns a targh. By the time the reader gets to that sentence,
he already knows who tried to destroy the leg. Furthermore the english
translation talks about a completed event. We can't have a type 7
suffix on the {nID}, but perhaps we could put place a {-ta'} on the
{Qaw'}, in order to specify for the reader, that "the targh set out to
do something" instead of "the targh tries to do something".

Again here the {'oH} is unnecessary, since the reader knows what this
story refers to. Also, I would place a time stamp at the beginning of
this sentence, to specify that in the future (near or distant) I will
try to wound and/or destroy it.

..of course since I'm a beginner too, these observations could be
wrong, so proceed with caution, before adopting any of them.
