Well, not disappeared entirely, just a new meaning.

The complete phrase was:
{qama'pu' jonta' neH}
"I told you only the engine", so the verb meant "say", before we got {ja'}

The new subtitle is:
"I wanted to make prisoners", which explains why there is this strange 
rule that the perfective suffix is not attached to the verb {neH} "want" 
in such a phrase.
