As SuStel has explained, {jegh} is intransitive.  For the transitive meaning Klingon seems to use the general verb {nob} "give".  E.g.

  yaSvaD taj nobpu' qama' 
  The prisoner gave the officer the knife. TKD

This could easily have been translated as "The prisoner surrendered his knife to the officer".

I couldn't find a better verb, but various types of giving and receiving include:

ghaq 		contribute
rup 		fine, tax
tam 		exchange

laj 		accept
Hev 		receive

tlhap 	take
nge' 		take away
yaH 		be taken away
