That was a bit of semi-poetry, on my part.  The {-lI'} in {jotqu'lI'} 
implies there is a known goal in remaining calm, but that progress is 
always the goal; one can never stop lest passion take hold.  I didn't 
use {-taH} because that implies (to me, at least) that Vulcans just 
remain calm as a matter of course.  Not so.  It takes great effort.

Perhaps I could have phrased that more clearly.  Suggestions?
