I just ran across an image of an aircraft painted in Star Alliance livery, and though it seems not all planes from Star Alliance airlines are so painted, the standard Star Alliance decoration scheme includes a painting of their logo - which is admittedly not a star, strictly speaking, but is nonetheless five triangles arranged so as to suggest one - on the tail fin.
