So, for a list of possible circumlocutions for "freckles", we have:

about (although he admits this sounds more like a bunch of tattoos)

dark circles on [quljIb]'s skin"
myself               -- nguv DIr; <Curzon Dax> rur 'ach Doq - "tinted 
skin; like Curzon Dax, but red/brown" (upon reflection, I don't like 
this so much)
                           -- julDeghHommey -- "little sun markings 
scattered about" (I like this; my mother used to call them "sun kisses")
