[Tlhingan-hol] Mangling Klingon to make it sortable

I'm certain this has been discussed before, but the archives seem to be
unreachable and unless it's in my personal archive, I don't know how
else I might find it.

I am looking for a way to take Klingon words and - possibly reversibly
- mangle them in some way to make most non-Klingon-aware software able
to sort them into proper Klingon alphabetical order.

I am wondering what methods exist and what their pros and cons are...
any advice?
