What I intended was an oblique metaphor, "he had a heart for his own heart": that is, he has captured someone else's heart for his own heart to love. In the original Georgian this is actually even more opaque: /da guli hkonda gulisatvis/ "and he had heart for heart". (I'm just glad I don't have metrical constraints to worry about.)

Fair 'nuff. I don't know why I don't use naQ in such constructions; I guess I just like Hoch. (Mentally, it's nice to be able to keep the same structure when I need to say {roghvaH HochHom} "most of the population" instead of "all of the population".)
