There's been a week break, although with all the paq'batlh stuff I 
doubt anyone's noticed. It may take a couple of days for me to get 
back up to daily posting speed.

In the most recent installment posted here, Mahoun invited 'eSSIm to 
attend a Federation cultural event. This was initially MUCH longer, 
then I cut the whole thing, then I realized that it helped the plot 
in a few tiny ways, so I rewrote a much reduced version. I'm starting 
to realize that this story is more a journey than a destination, so I 
may allow myself more diversions. Not every chapter needs to advance 
the plot, right?
