TREK TRIVIA:
In TOS "Mirror, Mirror" an ion storm is also referred to as a magnetic storm. A soft yellow magnetic ore found on Alpha 177 caused a transporter malfunction. (TOS "The Enemy Within")

A magnetic stream bottles up a ship's antimatter (i.e. magnetic bottle).  It takes the antimatter longer to explode once the magnetic flow fails. (TOS "That Which Survives")
