At the Polyglot Gathering in Berlin last week, I translated the second verse of "Do you hear the people sing?" from Les Misérables into Klingon for a multilingual rendition of the song. The resulting verse was as follows:

reH joqwI'maj wIDuvmoHmeH SuSuvqangchu''a' SoH?
Heghlu'meH QaQ jajvam. law'bej Heghbogh SuvwI' yoH.
Dat 'oH 'Iw'e'. batlh maHeghpu'pa' jaghma' wIHoH!

I'm planning to continue on and translate the rest of the song, although it will be at least a few more days before I get around to doing that.

Lastly: there is a grammatical error in the translation that I posted above, which I didn't catch until after the performance. I have left it in as an exercise for the reader, and would encourage all beginners (or anyone looking for grammar practice) to try to find it (folks who have seen the Facebook thread where I mentioned this verse: please refrain from commenting with the answer).

Qapla'!
