This problem has been called "Question as Object", compared to the
"Sentence as object", in a round table discussion in HolQeD. It was me
who asked that question many years ago.

Sometimes you still can use those words, but say it in two sentences:

Do not say {qatlh bIghung 'e' vISov vIneH} but say {vay' vISov vIneH:
qatlh bIghung?}

"I want to see how a ship is built":
chay' Duj chenmoHlu'? mIwvam vIyaj vIneH.

There are many simple ways to avoid QAO.
