Until we get a word for “dig”, we can probably limp by with {QemjIq vIchenmoH} or {QemjIq vItebHa’}, or something similar for {taSman}. Maybe {lam bo’Dagh} would work for the tool, until something better comes along. Or {lam vIHmoHwI’Hom}?

The interesting point in this segment of the vocabulary is that a hole appears to be a feature of a surface, rather than a void of material from a larger mass. It could well be that they never think about digging. They see the action as forming a hole or a ditch. Your labor creates the entity which is the hole or the ditch. Instead of seeing a hole as a place dirt used to be, you see the hole as something you made.
