ghunchu'wI', what is the difference in sense between [ghob] and [Suv] that makes you prefer it?
>>> I agree with ghunchu’wI’. I see he has answered, but I haven’t read his answer. Suv has principally the image of “I will take up my weapons and fight on our behalf” while ghob conveys more of the struggle and strive meaning. Plus the connotation of the other meaning of ghob touches ones mind even though it isn’t in the sentence.
What about this draft?
DaHjaj qanay/DaHjaj qaSaw
reH qatlhej ‘e’ vI’Ip
reH SoHvaD jISuv ‘e’ vI’Ip
reH juHlIj ‘oH juHwIj’e’ ‘e’ vI’Ip (so far so good)
maHaghruptaHjaj
maQaHchuqjaj (I think the sentiments are clearer in this form, but I'm not sure -jaj has enough of the feeling of a vow, it feels more like a toast to me.)
>>> Oh it feels very correct to me. It can be a toast, but a toast can be as serious as a prayer, or invocation. It is not a promise, but how being ready to laugh is something one wishes of the universe, not something she can promise. Why the –taH on Hagh but not QaH?

I thought about that as I typed it. It was on a phone, so a little awkward to edit. I was pretty sure those who needed to know would know what was meant.

You really need to bracket your Klingon so it's clear when you mean "not" and when you mean {not}.
