majQa' and Qapla' to all involved!

I'd be interested in heading or otherwise assisting with the Extended Corpus project.
I've spent more time than any person reasonably should looking through various archives for bits of Klingon-related info and cross-referencing with my own collection of Star Trek works, so I figure I might as well put it to use.

Best wishes,
loghaD

First things first: Raise your voices in song for the tremendous deeds of Chris Lipscombe
who has labored long and hard on converting the KLI's website to more modern sensibility,
while at the same time maintaining the classic look and feel we have known and enjoyed
for so long. And he has done this despite my getting in his way with ignorant questions
throughout so much of the process. Most everything has been created on a practice site,
and is ready to be ported over to the KLI's domain.

In the past, the website was largely maintained by a single webmaster -- this is where you
raise your voices in song for the many years of work performed by Mark Shouslon -- but as
we move forward, the idea is to have different sections of the site's content managed by
different volunteers, thus spreading the workload around and giving more people the
chance to be involved.

At present, we are looking for some volunteers, as follows:

1) someone who is skilled with "mailman" to setup a new list with the KLI's new hosting
provider, and then manage it going forward. Once a new archive can be setup on the new
host. Once this is done, Chris can migrate the search engine that he's created to the new
host.

As this position requires specific skill sets independent of Klingon, if you are interested in
taking on this responsibility please send an email to me (klingonguy at gmail.com<mailto:klingonguy at gmail.com>) with the
subject line of MAILMAN CANDIDATE and either I or Chris will get back to you soon.

2) someone to manage the Extended Corpus Project.

In addition:

• Alan Anderson has already begun working on what will be the new site's New Word List.

• Robyn Stewart has created an entire online Beginners' course that will also be part of the
new site.

There's more ahead for the new site as well, including regular freebies for members, details
about the next qep'a', and much more.
