And the award for completely missing the point goes to...

Anyway, let me be clear. I do not expect a project like this to convert anyone to Christianity and I wouldn't expect fictional Klingons to have any interest in this. However, I do hope there are a few members of the Roman church that are also science fiction fans who can appreciate this and maybe even develop an interest in tlhIngan Hol because of it. And even if it never converts anyone in either direction (i.e. speaker to Christ or Christian to Hol) it was a project that I had an interest in so it could easily inspire me to do some extra activity with the language.

There are probably some things in my translation that are questionable, but I'm sure this is much better than the nonsense that's currently up there. However, I welcome suggestions for improvement and so I offer this here first for critique before I send it to Father Z. Terms that the Roman church tends to have specialized words for regardless of language have been transliterated and marked in curly brackets. Feel free to debate any controversial subjects that I have stirred up, but unless you offer me an alternative that I find acceptable, don't expect it to change the translation that I will offer to Father Z.

A prayer before logging onto the internet: Almighty and eternal God, who created us in Thine image and bade us to seek after all that is good, true and beautiful, especially in the divine person of Thine Only-begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, grant, we beseech Thee, that, through the intercession of Saint Isidore, Bishop and Doctor, during our journeys through the internet we will direct our hands and eyes only to that which is pleasing to Thee and treat with charity and patience all those souls whom we encounter. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
