Facebook has many reasons to exist, and many motives behind the technical functions it offers to different viewers. The KLI Web site and mailing list have one reason to exist, and only one motive behind its every choice.

Facebook is a third party that can easily choose to offer information to parties that are not part of KLI. They can offer a really cool feature that we like a lot, and then arbitrarily remove it because it doesn’t continue to be useful to their many goals.
