One of the few speech verbs not beginning with {ja-}.  E.g.

jach 		scream, cry out
jang 		answer, reply
jat 		speak incoherently, mumble (slang)
jatlh  	say, speak
jatlhHa'  	say the wrong thing, misspeak
jaw 		chat
ja' 		report, tell
ja'chuq  	discuss, confer
