I pretty much ignore these stories and the resulting comments now.  For one
thing, the author almost never gets the details of the story right.  And
they nearly never try to contact me to ask me about it (I'm pretty easy to
find).  But most importantly, Alec is a great kid (just starting his 2nd
year of college, if you can believe it!), and we have a great relationship.
 It's just lazy storytelling designed to create a reaction from their
readers, which they succeed at.  Why should they care whether they get the
story right or hurt anyone in the process?
