What you call a "battery" sounds like what Klingons call a {HoS Hal} "power supply", i.e. a power pack/cell/module which powers some device:

nISwI' HIch motlh HoS Hal qengwI' naQ tIq je lurarlu'bogh
   'oH tlhIngan nISwI' beH'e'
The Klingon disruptor rifle is a standard hand held disruptor,
attached to an extended power supply stock. S14

Trek trivia: In TOS "The Omega Glory" Spock investigates a pile of Yang bodies and finds drained phaser power packs (i.e. Capt. Tracey's reserve belt packs), clear evidence that Tracey helped in a previous battle in a blatant violation of the Prime Directive. Later Tracey wanted Kirk to order the Enterprise to beam down ten phasers with three extra power packs each. This is the only time in the original series that reference is made to phaser "power packs".

BTW, a group of similar (large?) devices working as a unit - at least mounted on a starship - seems to be called a {DaH} "bank, array":

  begh DaH deflector array
  chuyDaH thrusters (pl.)?
Hong boq chuyDaH impulse fusion thrusters (pl.)
  nISwI' DaH disruptor banks
pIvchem lIngwI' DaH warp field generation array
pIvghor lIngwI' DaH warp generation array
  pu'DaH phaser banks
  So'wI' DaH cloak array
