[317] I'm reminded of the "milk-and-coffee" 
riddle from the mailing list last year. I 
intended these to be separate choices of 
beverage, but you know, it doesn't matter a lot if it's a combination.
[299] Just something you probably didn't pick up 
on about Yelwitian society. Or maybe you did 
because ... Mahoun got his teenage job at the 
spaceport because it was a Federation joint 
venture and the Federation wouldn't brook slave 
labour. Mahoun and his lawyer congratulated 
themselves on scoring a free slave complete with 
a transport permit. I mentioned that a member of 
Mahoun's crew came from a slave refuge. I just 
let you assume that she was a former slave. But 
remember, if you get a pet from an animal rescue 
shelter, in a society where it's normal to have pets, it's still a pet.

Also, I decided not to put it in the story, but 
there's a reason, other than extreme willingness 
to party, that Emlye was able to establish a 
party faster than I can clean my kitchen.
