My husband's family lives not far from Chicago, so we detoured by Chicago this week, en route to the in-laws' place. We watched A Klingon Christmas Carol -- awesome -- and met up with the Klingon speakers and learners in the cast and city. Last night I attended the Chicago qepHom with Jeremy and John Harness. It was fantastic. Two learners, with a serious yet fun attitude to the language, sitting down and trying very hard to simply converse in Klingon. And succeeding at a level I wasn't expecting. Good smart thinking about the language, excellent skills at working around vocabulary not known or not in the dictionary, and persistence.

If you have an interest in Klingon and are in the Chicago area, try to get together with these folks. They have a Facebook page and are friendly. It makes me want to get a jet and attend every qepHom in the world. 

I'll definitely try to get together with the Seattle folks this winter. Who else is in the BC, AB, WA, OR, ID region who is working on their spoken Klingon?
