Right.  Scratch the "skinny pins" bit, thought it still could be a double pun on bowling.

The pins aren't particularly skinny. They are short, small and widely spaced. Meanwhile, the ball has no holes in it because it is the size of a grapefruit or softball. You get lower score with duck pin bowling. Strikes are wicked hard to get.
