Not sure whether {lay'} "promise" and {lay'Ha'] "break one's word" can take an object. We have only two examples (AFAIK), both intransitive:
not lay'Ha' tlhIngan
No Klingon ever breaks his word. TKW
("A Klingon never breaks his word."
[Worf to Alexander, TNG "Cost of Living"])
and now in the {paq'batlh} (pp. 150-151, 186-187):
jIlay'ta' 'ej batlh jIpabta'
vaj choDanIS
I have kept my word of honor,
And so should you,
Are there any more examples in the {paq'batlh}?
